Our main motivation for making snowboard gear is so we can have fun on it. A little selfish, we know, but we like to think we know what makes for a great day on the mountain. All we knew going into the 2014/2015 winter was that we wanted to switch things up. We wanted a new type of binding that was light and surfy without sacrificing response or durability. With this idea Rome AsymWrap bindings were born. We removed an outer connection point to the baseplate which shaved off a bit of weight and also allowed for more lateral movement. We quickly found this allowed riders to lean into turns way more than normal which made for some of the most incredible times on hill.
On the market for a decade now our AsymWrap bindings have gone through rigorous testing, tweaking, and tech advancements to get where they are at today. The allure of the AsymWrap binding platform speaks for itself but the slew of buyer's guide appearances, awards, snowboard gear reviewer seals of approval, and glowing reviews from customers certainly don't hurt. Not sure about our AsymWrap bindings? Let us demystify snowboarding's open secret for you.
What is the AsymWrap binding platform?
Unlike our FullWrap binding platform, the AsymWrap binding platform utilizes three connection points to the baseplate from the heelhoop. Made from forged aluminum, the AsymWrap heelhoop is the perfect blend of lightweight and durability so riders don't feel like they have a sack of bricks attached to their foot all day. This asymmetrical layout allows more lateral movement while turning, easier tweaking on grabs, and in general a more surfy and forgiving ride. From there we add different highback materials, baseplate materials, straps, and PivotMount to each model so there is a pair of bindings for every type of rider. Consider your bindings a pizza. Everyone has their own preference of toppings but if you aren't using a great dough then the toppings don't matter much. The AsymWrap platform is the dough that has been in your family for generations. With a base like that, any toppings are going to be pretty appealing!
What are the Differences of AsymWrap Bindings?

Vice & Guild
If you are a rider who just wants to take a pair of bindings out of the box, mount them on your snowboard and go then you may want to look at the Vice or Guild. Lightweight, surfy, and forgiving thanks to the AsymWrap platform, these bindings feature Nylon highbacks that value versatility and durability over everything. Add in UltraFlex Ankle Straps, an open edge evolution of our AuxTech straps, and you'll find yourself comfortably locked in to your bindings.
Katana & Women's Katana
The Katana is a fan-favorite for good reason |

Katana Pro & Black Label
Do you find yourself demanding pure performance from your snowboard bindings? If only the best of the best will suffice on your snowboard then you'll want to check out the Katana Pro or Black Label.
What truly sets these bindings apart from the Katana all lies in the highback and baseplate material compositions. All-new for this year the Katana Pro substitues the 30% glass composition of the Katana baseplate with 30% carbon. The highback uses the same 30% carbon blend instead of 15% glass. What does this do in terms of performance? Quite frankly, it turns it up to 11. Insane amounts of power and hyper-responsiveness makes the Katana Pro the hardest charging binding available.
The Black Label utilizes our PowerGraft (tm) highback, only found on this model. Made up of a 70% Polystand (tm) layered composite fiber upper region, the Black Label offers next level power on heel-to-toe turning while simultaneously offering heaps of torsional tweakability. Truly a one-of-a-kind space age binding, the Black Label is something you have to ride for yourself to understand just how it breaks traditional snowboard binding rules.
